To Qualify for Island Series Awards athletes must satisfy the following criteria:

Compete in 4 of the 7 Island Series meets (One meet must be the Alberni, Courtenay or the Nanaimo meet).
The VIAA Pentathlon/Weight Pentathlon is counted as one meet
